Winners have been selected following a two-month global competition featuring the best work taken by both amateur and professional aerial photographers who are part of SkyPixel, the world’s most popular aerial photography community.
SkyPixel is run in cooperation with DJI and is a place for photographers to showcase and share their work – as well as aerial imagery tips.
Some of the works selected as the top drone photographs of 2016 are simply breathtaking. Check out this beauty from the 360° category:
The SkyPixel Photo of the Year was awarded to Ge Zheng for the work “Fishermen close the net” – shot in China’s Fujian province.
For that winning photo, Zheng takes home a pretty awesome selection of prizes. In addition to the recognition, he receives a new DJI Inspire 2 drone, a DJI Mavic Pro drone, Epson Moverio BT-300 smart glasses, an Epson SureColor P400 Wide Format Photo Printer and – if that’s not enough – a one-year membership to the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan.
In total, some 27,000 entries were submitted from 131 countries.
